Happy Endings for Shelter Pets :)

Dexter

This is Dexter, I adopted him from the Santa Ana, CA Shelter 10 years ago and he hasn’t left my side since. :)

Gretta & Louie

Here are a couple more party animals I like to hang out with. Gretta was pregnant when rescued from a kill shelter by a group called “Luv 4 K9′s”, someone had cut off both her ears and her tail. The foster group was able to adopt out all of her babies except for one (Louie, the handsome guy in the yellow shirt). My amazing mother decided to adopt both Gretta and her baby and the rest is history! Luv 4 K9′s sets up an adoption area at the Petsmart in Anaheim Hills every Sunday, you should check them out if you are ever looking for a new fur friend!

Duke

Here  is Duke, my friend Alex adopted him from the Santa Ana, CA Shelter. He knew he was in the market for a pet so looked through the www.petinfo.com website and found him prior to going to the shelter. This website is a great way to view pets, and do a little research on them prior to adopting. As you can see in the next pictures…Duke has become quite comfortable in his new forever home <3

Duke

Next, meet Max and Jazzy — both adopted by one of my favorite people, Ms. Michelle. She adopted Max, a 3 year old puggle, from a family that couldn’t take care of him anymore. I’m telling you people, even if you are looking for a specific breed of animal…there is one out there waiting to be adopted by you. She looked in the paper and on Craig’sList etc. and found this adorable  face

Jazzybelle is one of my fave adoption storys because she was about 13 months when Michelle adopted her. I have a soft spot for the cats because I feel like everyone wants a kitten when in fact a cat can be just as playful and bring just as much joy into your day :) The Riverside shelter found her on the street somewhere and she was only 2.7 lbs, now she is a healthy 12lbs. If this next picture is the perfect picture of a happy ending...I don't know what is!

This is Duke...he enjoys long walks on grass, staring for hours out the window at neighborhood cats, sleeping on your feet while you nap, laying on whatever it is you are trying to work on, and eating green beans. This Duke is my sister and brother in law's dog, a rescue that has become a staple in my family :)

  6. I just re-read this article….it makes me warm and fuzzy inside…it also makes me realize how fat Max has gotten since we first adopted him. LOL!

  7. PS I think Zoe needs a special feature here. She has come so far since her AMAZING family adopted her ;)
