This is Dexter, I adopted him from the Santa Ana, CA Shelter 10 years ago and he hasn’t left my side since.
Here are a couple more party animals I like to hang out with. Gretta was pregnant when rescued from a kill shelter by a group called “Luv 4 K9′s”, someone had cut off both her ears and her tail. The foster group was able to adopt out all of her babies except for one (Louie, the handsome guy in the yellow shirt). My amazing mother decided to adopt both Gretta and her baby and the rest is history! Luv 4 K9′s sets up an adoption area at the Petsmart in Anaheim Hills every Sunday, you should check them out if you are ever looking for a new fur friend!
Here is Duke, my friend Alex adopted him from the Santa Ana, CA Shelter. He knew he was in the market for a pet so looked through the www.petinfo.com website and found him prior to going to the shelter. This website is a great way to view pets, and do a little research on them prior to adopting. As you can see in the next pictures…Duke has become quite comfortable in his new forever home <3
Next, meet Max and Jazzy — both adopted by one of my favorite people, Ms. Michelle. She adopted Max, a 3 year old puggle, from a family that couldn’t take care of him anymore. I’m telling you people, even if you are looking for a specific breed of animal…there is one out there waiting to be adopted by you. She looked in the paper and on Craig’sList etc. and found this adorable face
…

This is Duke...he enjoys long walks on grass, staring for hours out the
window at neighborhood cats, sleeping on your feet while you nap, laying on whatever it is you are trying to work on, and eating green beans. This Duke is my sister and brother in law's dog, a rescue that has become a staple in my family

Shelter pets make the best pets xoxo
YOU are a pretty amazing gal. If only we had backyards – there would be no pets left to adopt
Duke!! He’s so happy in his new bachelor pad. He’s been great with people, super friendly, and loves to play!
And look at that mug! …he gets all the bitches.
Haha. The look on Dex’s face is great!
They’re simply too cute!
Oh my, they are all so cute!!! I love Gretta and Louie in their cute little shirts!
I also have a dog from the shelter (Fritzi) and I feel so lucky to have him by my side now. If you like, check out some funny pics of him on my blog: http://www.greenderella.com/2010/12/28/fritzi-and-his-lasagne/
Greetings from Germany!
I just re-read this article….it makes me warm and fuzzy inside…it also makes me realize how fat Max has gotten since we first adopted him. LOL!
PS I think Zoe needs a special feature here. She has come so far since her AMAZING family adopted her
And she’s so cute! I love to see pix of her. (I would die happy if someone caught a pic of her ‘smiling’)
